Committees

Habitat for Humanity of Randolph County is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors creates committees to carry out its policies. Volunteers are always needed to join these committees and keep Habitat functioning smoothly. Fundraising Committee
  • Design and plan fundraising campaigns
  • Contact churches, businesses, individuals
  • Grant writing
Family Selection Committee
  • Organize orientation meetings
  • Review family applications
  • Perform home visits
  • Make family selections
  • Make recommendations to the Board about selection policies
Church Relations Committee
  • Educate churches about Habitat
  • Make contacts with churches
  • Give lectures to churches and church groups
  • Recruit churches for fundraising
  • Recruit church groups to volunteer
Building Committee
  • Maintain house plans
  • Review plans with selected families
  • Oversee building process
  • Solicit material donations
  • Evaluate land
  • Recommend building policies to the Board
  • Maintain a safe and productive build site
  • Set a building schedule
  • Estimate volunteers needed
Site Selection Committee
  • Solicit community for land donations
  • Oversee land acquisition
Public Relations Committee
  • Design and publish newsletter
  • Write articles of publicity
  • Make contacts with news media
  • Maintain information pamphlet
  • Maintain website

Family Services Committee
  • Maintain Homeowner's Manual
  • Assign a partner to each family
  • Assist families through building process
  • Track sweat-equity hours
  • Organize homeowner training seminars
  • Recommend family services policies to the Board
  • Assist families after they move in

Volunteer Committee
  • Recruit volunteers from the community
  • Assign volunteers and groups to projects
  • Make sure volunteers are organized at the site
  • Manage special volunteer group projects
  • Track volunteer activities
  • Organize volunteer orientation and appreciation functions
